Ingredients:
1 lb. hamburger
1 medium onion (chopped)
1 C. cooked rice (regular or minute rice)
1 C. marinara sauce (or the sauce of your choice)
1 C. shredded cheddar cheese plus a little more for the tops
2 large green peppers
Salt and Pepper to taste
Seasonings of your choice
Directions:
- Fry hamburger and onion until browned. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Cook rice according to package directions.
- Mix hamburger, onion, cooked rice, marinara sauce and about a cup of cheddar cheese in a mixing bowl.
- Clean green peppers, cut in half and clean out seeds and veins.
- Place the meat mixture into the green pepper halves and place more cheese on top. You can also put a little more marinara sauce on before you add the cheese to the tops.
- Place green pepper halves into a square cake pan if making four.
- Pour a little water in the bottom of the pan, cover with foil and place into a 350° oven for about 40-45 minutes. If using an outside grill, place pan on grates and cook for about 40-45 minutes.
Note: This recipe can be doubled or tripled. Just adjust ingredients to the amount you are making.
